When you finished filling out the entire Account Settings for your blog, the next thing to do is to choose your blog template. You can change your template anytime you want without losing any information. Go to your Blogger.com dashboard and design your blog template.
1. Template - Click on Template to select a base template for your blog from the various samples: dynamic view, simple, picture window, awesome, watermark, ethereal and travel views.
2. Customize - Click on Customize button to display the following menu and start making changes to your blog template design:
2.1. Background - Click on Background Image and/or Main Theme Color to change the color of your blog page background.
2.2. Adjust Widths - This will show you the default blog width of 990 pixel and blog sidebar of 310 pixel. If you want to change the size, you can tag the ruler to the left (decrease the length of the blog width or sidebar) or to the right (increase the length of the blog width or sidebar). Click on Reset widths to template default if you decide to use the default length of the blog width and sidebar.
2.3. Advanced - When you click on Advanced link, you will see the following information:
2.3.a. Page Text - Select text font (ex. arial, courier, times new roman), text size (ex. 12 pixel, 14 pixel) and text color from the Font and Page Color charts.
2.3.b. Background - Select from the color pallets the color of your blog page background by clicking on Outer Background, Main Background and Header Background.
2.3.c. Links - Select from the color pallets the color for your blog page links by clicking on Link Color, Visited Color and Hover Color.
2.3.d. Blog Title - Select text font (ex. arial, courier, times new roman), text size (ex. 50 pixel, 65 pixel) and text color for your blog title from the Font and Title Color charts.
2.3.e. Blog Description - Select from the Description Color pallet the text color for your blog description.
2.3.f. Tabs Text - Select text font (ex. arial, courier, times new roman), text size (ex. 12 pixel, 14 pixel) and text color for your blog tabs from the Font and Title Color charts.
2.3.g. Tabs Background - Select from the Background Color pallet the color for your blog tabs background.
2.3.h. Post Title - Select text font (ex. arial, courier, times new roman) and text size (ex. 30 pixel, 36 pixel) for your blog post title from the Font chart.
2.3.i. Date Header - Select the text color and background color for your blog date header from the Text Color and Background Color pallets.
2.3.j. Post Footer - Select the color for the text, background and shadow of your blog post footer from the Text Color, Background Color and Shadow Color pallets.
2.3.k. Gadgets - Select the title font (ex. arial, courier, times new roman), text size (ex. 12 pixel, 14 pixel), title color and alternate color that will appear in your blog gadgets.
2.3.l. Images - Select the background color, border color and caption text color for your blog images from the color pallets.
2.3.m. Accents - Select the separator line color and tabs border color for your blog from the color pallets.
2.3.n. Mobile Button Color - If you have a mobile blog, select the mobile button color from the color pallet.
2.3.o. Add CSS - Click on Add CSS if you want to add a new Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to your blog template by typing the CSS code on the appropriate space. After you have provided the necessary information, click on Apply to Blog to update your blog template.
