Ad Sizes for Internet Advertising

You're here > Blogging for Money Ad Sizes for Internet Advertising

The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) is the organization that developed the standard ad sizes that Internet advertisers must follow.  There are 4 basic standard ad sizes that are being implemented by all Internet advertisers, namely:

1.  Ad size of 300 x 250 - medium rectangle
2.  Ad size of 180 x 150 - rectangle
3.  Ad size of 160 x 600 - wide skyscraper
4.  Ad size of 728 x 90 - leaderboard

Below are the actual samples of each ad size.

According to Internet Advertising Bureau some variations in the ad sizes are allowed and have been standardized by IAB to some degree.  The other ad sizes, gathered from Wikipedia, are enumerated below:

Bloggers and other publishers should learn about the ad sizes for Internet advertising because if they plan to offer advertising spaces for a fee in their blogs, they can tell the advertisers the various available ad sizes.

Offering ad spaces for others to advertise in a blog is one way of making money.  Bloggers and publishers will realize 100% of the advertising income as compared with ad revenue sharing offered by third-party advertisers.

If you have a Blogger.com blog, it is very easy to create an ad space in the blog sidebar that can be offered to advertisers.  You do not have to know HTML programming;  it is only a copy and paste of codes to your blog.

If I was able to give you an idea on how to make money through direct ad space selling, please give me some comments below.  Thank you.

Someone told me that lunch buffett at the Boulder Station Hotel & Casino is inexpensive and very good.  So I went one noon and checked the food out.  There were more than 50 food items to eat that I did not remember the food name because most of them sounds French to me.  Anyway, I enjoyed the food considering the price was affordable - $7.95 plus sales tax of 8.1% or for a total of $8.59 per person.

The picture shown below is the side entrance going to the Boulder Station Hotel & Casino.  I forgot to take pictures of the yummy buffet food and the dining area.  Sorry about that, folks.

According to Wikipedia.org, Boulder Station Hotel & Casino opened on August 23, 1994 at Boulder Highway, Las Vegas, Nevada.  The casino floor area is about 75,000 square feet or 7,000 square meters.  The hotel has 300 rooms including the suites.  Near the casino floor area are 5 restaurants where customers can eat.

It's good that I do not gamble.  I just go to any Las Vegas casino to eat, watch free concerts or go to the movie theater inside the casino.

Have you been to Las Vegas?  There are a lot of things that you can do here outside of casino gambling.  Probably, you can plan a vacation here in the near future.

Thank you for seeing my picture above.

One of the places that I go to when I am doing nothing at home is the public library near my home.

I have a free library card that I use in borrowing library materials like books, DVD movies, magazines, newspapers, periodicals, cassettes and many others.

One afternoon, I took a picture of the book shelves located inside the library.  The shelves showed some books that were neatly arranged.  I want to share the photo with you, guys.

One Saturday morning, I visited a Wal-Mart Supermarket in Las Vegas.  The purpose of going to the supermarket was to:

(a) shop around for a camcorder, which I am planning to use in my future video blog (or vlog);

(b) buy some fruits, vegetables, milk, bread, canned goods and some other goodies; and

(c) eat at McDonald inside the supermarket.

Below are some pictures which I took that I would like to share with you.

Cat No. 3 - Name:  TIA
Hello!  My name is Tia.  I am a sweet 8-year old girl looking for my forever home.  I was abandoned and living outside for a long time until a nice lady rescued me from the streets.  I have discovered a warm bed is much better.  I love attention.  I run and greet my foster mother, flop over and let her rub my tummy and give her nose some kisses.  At night, I like to cuddle in bed next to my foster mother.  I will give you lots of love if you give me a chance.

Hi! My name is Alfie, and as you can see, I am one gorgeous boy.  I was originally adopted as a kitten.  When my owners could no longer afford to care for me, they returned me to the angels at Heaven Can Wait.  I'm pretty low-maintenance and as sweet as can be.  I am a bit shy at first, so you will need to be extra gentle until I know you.  Once I trust you, there isn't a nicer guy to have around.  Will you give me a chance at a forever home?

If you would like to meet me, please visit the PetSmart Adoption Center at 7050 Arroyo Crossing Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89113-4056 or send your email to: cats@hcws.org.

    Image - $10 + 2 Tacos

I am not a Mexican but I love to eat burritos and tacos.  I like burritos because of its good taste and consist of beans, rice, cheese, chicken or beef meat with its specialty sauce and wrapped in corn tortilla wrapper.

One time, I visited a Del Taco fast food in Las Vegas, Nevada and I saw on top of the counter its new promo: "Buy a Card for $10 and get 2 FREE Regular Tacos.  Good for future visit".

So I bought one card for $10 (see receipt above).  The cashier gave me a nice red plastic card and a coupon for 2 free regular tacos.

How much will I pay for 2 tacos without a coupon?  One taco cost $0.50 (fifty cents) plus sales tax of 8.1% or $0.54 per taco x 2 tacos = $1.08.  I go to Del Taco once a week and I keep on buying the promo card also every week to be used for my next eating escapade.  By doing this, I can save some money.

I wish you are here in Las Vegas so that I can treat you to a burrito and taco meal.

Do you have similar experience?  Please tell me and our readers about your experience by writing it in the comments below.  I may post your experience in this blog for our readers to learn about your personal experience.  Thanks

    How to Safe-Keep Your Passwords

You're here > Give Me Money > How to Safe-Keep Your Passwords

Before, I was keeping all my user names and passwords in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.  When I found the free OpenOffice.org home and office software and downloaded it to my computer C: hard drive, I converted the user names/passwords file to OpenOffice Spreadsheet file.

And then, I stored both the Excel and Spreadsheet versions of my file in my computer C: hard drive.  I realized that all my user names and password may be stolen by malwares while I am connected to the Internet.

To safe-keep all my user names and passwords, I did the following steps:

    1.  I downloaded the free OpenOffice.org packaged software that includes the Spreadsheet (similar to Microsoft Excel) to my computer C: hard drive.

    2.  I converted the Excel file (containing my user names and passwords) to OpenOffice.org Spreadsheet file (see a sample below).  To convert the file, I just retrieved the Excel file and opened the file in the OpenOffice.org Spreadsheet.  No changes and actions were done with the Spreadsheet file.

    3.  I saved the Spreadsheet file to my Toshiba USB (which stands for Universal Serial Bus and designated as F: drive) (see a sample below), which is inserted to a small slot in front of my computer C: hard drive.

    4.  When I displayed my Spreadsheet user names and passwords on my computer screen, I clicked on the OpenOffice.org icon on my desktop screen > clicked on the Spreadsheet button > File > Open > Computer > F: drive > and clicked on my Passwords file (containing my user names and passwords).

    5.  If I wanted to visit for example, Google.com, I clicked on the Passwords tab below the screen > clicked on my mouse to copy my user name > switched to Google.com tab > pasted my user name on the Google's User Name box > switched again to my Passwords tab > clicked on my mouse to copy my password > switched again to Google.com tab > pasted my password on the Google's Password box to bring me to my Google account web page.

I do not have to type and re-type my user name and password for each website I visited.

    6.  If I wanted to add, delete or change a user name and/or a password, I just went to my OpenOffice.org Spreadsheet file to update it and then saved the updated file to my USB in the F: drive.

    7.  When I left the house, I kept the USB containing my user names and passwords in a filing cabinet with lock and key.

    Last Words

I feel secured when I know that all my user names and passwords are not in my computer C: drive.

Do you have comments or opinions if I am doing the right and safe thing in protecting my user names and passwords?  If not, please sent them to me by using the Comments box below.  I hope that I was able to give you a bit of idea.  Thanks
