1.  Create a Google Account

Go to Google website to create your email address and password.  You will need only one email address and one password to access all Google products and services such as Blogger, Sites, AdSense, Toolbar, Docs, iGoogle, Google Reader and many others.

2.  Read Google Products and Services

As a start, just read the information on (a) Blogger - to create a blog, (b) Google Sites - to create a website and (c) Google AdSense - to monetize your blog and/or website.

3.  View Some Live Blogger blogs

To familiarize yourself with blog designs created from Blogger.com, you can view the pages of my blog which you are reading now.  You can also view the Official Google Blog by clicking this link > http://googleblog.blogspot.com/.

4.  Which Should be Created First - a Blog or a Website?

I personally recommend that you start creating a Blogger blog first because it is easier than creating a website.  A blog is like a diary where you record or post your activities.  For example, If you came from a vacation, you can write in your blog about the places you visited, the food you ate, the people you met, and other topics you want to share.

5.  Visualize and Plan your Money Making Goals

If you decide to develop a blog, think of the area of interest that you want to discuss in your blog.  You might be interested to share your knowledge in gardening, shopping, cooking, parenting, housekeeping, volunteering and others.

6.  Add Google and Blogger Sign-in Pages to Your Favorites

I strongly recommend that you add the Google and Blogger sign-in pages to your Favorites to eliminate retyping the website names on the address box appearing on the top left side of your computer screen.

To add Google or Blogger sign-in page to your Favorites

1. Type Google.com or Blogger.com on the address box (located at the top left side of your computer screen) and press Enter.
2. Click on Sign-in button.
3. Position your mouse cursor on any blank page appearing in your screen and right-click your mouse to show Add to Favorites.
4. Click on Add to Favorites.
5. Use the Google or Blogger default name displayed on the box or you may want to change the default name to let's say, Google sign-in or Blogger sign-in.
6. Click on Add button.
7. The next time you visit the Google or Blogger sign-in page, just click Favorites and click on the Google sign-in or Blogger sign-in link.

7.  Install Google Toolbar

To access and install to your computer the Google Toolbar, you must have a Google email address and password.  If you decide to install the Toolbar, the Google search box will be displayed on the top side of your computer screen.  You will be using the Google search box a lot when you do some searches and research work on your blog and/or website.

To install Google Toolbar in your computer, type Google.com in the address box (located at the top left side of your computer screen), sign in your email address and password, click on Toolbar, and click on Download Google Toolbar button.  After the installation, nothing will be changed in your operating system or browser.

8.  Create a Blog from Blogger.com

After you have studied the various Google products and services which include Blogger, you can start creating a basic blog using the Blogger.com blogging platform.  Everything in the Blogger.com is free - domain name, blog hosting, and various gadgets to monetize your blog.  The mechanics of creating a blog are discussed in another section of this blog.

9.  Monetize your Blog

After you have finalized your first blog post, you can start inserting the Google AdSense gadget or code either outside or inside of your blog post.  When you click the Publish button, you can view your first blog page already with Google AdSense ads on the Internet.  The mechanics of inserting Google AdSense gadget and code are discussed in another section of this blog.

10.  Create a Website from Google.com Sites

Once you mastered the various steps in creating a blog, you can start reading information on how to create a website using Google.com products and services which include Sites.  You will use the same email address and password to access the Google Sites.  The mechanics in creating a website are discussed in another section of this blog.

11.  Monetize your Google Website

After you have finished your first website page, you can start inserting the Google AdSense gadget or code in recommended locations of your first website page. When you click the Publish button, you can view your first website page already with Google ads on the Internet.  The mechanics of inserting Google AdSense gadget and code are discussed in another section of this blog.
